Scopely / Wheel of Fortune

An officially licensed puzzle game soft-launched in select territories.

Features Overview

MY FOCUS ON THIS PROJECT WAS TO REACH TARGET LAUNCH KPIS IN RETENTION AND MONETIZATION. MY GOAL WAS TO DESIGN FEATURES FOR AN EXISTING GAME THAT COULD INTEGRATE WITH THE PROGRESSION AND FEATURES THAT HAD ALREADY BEEN ESTABLISHED.

(I did not do the final art or programming for these features. I designed, documented and wireframed the features, then supervised the development and implementation.)

facebook integration

As part of the long-term retention goals, I wanted to encourage players to connect to Facebook without being obvious about it. Instead, I integrated Facebook connect more subtly. The pictured example shows a faked "friend" on the map in the same way a real friend would look if the player was connected to Facebook. Tapping this friend's portrait opens the FB connect window.

vanity redesign

Vanity items are very important in a social game, and the vanity items in this game were not easy to use or fun to browse. I redesigned the UI and helped make browsing easier. Progress bars were added to locked frames with a clear description of how to acquire them. Free starter frames were given to get players used to equipping frames, and the total number of frames were increased to more frequently award frames to players.

item collection

The existing collection system was frustrating rather than rewarding. I helped redesign the system to be more rewarding, giving players more total items and no duplicates. Each completion reward is clearly marked, and more purchase options were added for players of all monetary levels.
